Pick a matte bronzer that is one shade darker than your natural skin tone.  Blend it from your  ears and stop underneath the apples of your cheeks.  Then add a pop of rosy color to the apples of your cheeks and a bit of highlighter to the top of your cheekbones.  This contrast will make your cheeks look three dimensional.

MY TOP BLUSHES AND BRONZERS

Here are some of the blushes and bronzers that I recommend. I am listing products in various price brackets, just because it cost doesn't mean that its a great product. Have fun with this, remember you don't have to stick to one color, try different shades and textures depending on the look that you are trying to achieve.


TOP BLUSHES
1. NARS $25 - Orgasm this is a pinky/peachy with subtle highlights with a golden shimmer; Super Orgasm is a pinky/peachy with extra golden sparkle, this gives the face a great glow.  * I love both these shades.

2. LOREAL "TRUE MATCH" $9 - Sweet ginger is a soft coral/peachy color with no shimmer. I love this color, i use on myself as well as clients.  For the price you can't beat this, try the other "true match" blushes they are defiantly worth adding to your collection.

3. NYX COSMETICS  $8 -  this brand is sometimes called the "poor woman's MAC" these colors have great pigmentation and is super economical.

4. MILANI LUMINOUS $5. 50  - you can't beat this price, for such a great product. These colors are amazing. If you cant afford NARS Super Orgasm, this color is a peachy/coral shimmer with no glitter that can be used as a substitute.

5. MAC BLUSH $18.50 - MAC never disappoints, and some suggested colors are: Instant Chic, Coral, Gingerly and Springsheen.   MAC has such a huge collection with a variety of colors, shimmer no shimmer shades.

TOP BRONZERS


1.MAC BRONZER $22.00 - As always they have a great color selection.  Their bronzers have shimmery, but they are not over shimmery. I use this as my everyday bronzer.

2. ESTEE LAUDER $25 - Bronze Goddess. This color comes in shimmer and no shimmer. I love the soft matt, it can be used on everyone no matter the skin color.  This is one of those items that you never leave home without.

3. STILA $28 - Sun Bronzing Powder. This is a great product, comes in 2 shades, one is  a little more shimmery than other.

4. SMASHBOX $28 - this is such a great line, and they have great bronzer to match. It comes in 2 shades.

Choosing the best bronzer really comes down to the bronze style you are attempting to achieve.  I think there are about three main beauty styles when it comes to this effect.

  Sun Kissed Fresh-natural radiant glow to skin, most notably highlighting the nose and cheeks (where you first notice the natural effects of sun coloring our faces).  Subtle fresh style that works any time of the year.
• 
  
  Golden Glow- all over soft golden tone to skin on face and rest of body (Natural look of a casual summer tan).  
•

Use bronzer and blush in conjunction with each other.  The blush adds color and the bronzer helps it to blend in your skin and also contouring and giving definition to your face.

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT BRONZER

There are so many ways to choose what is the best bronzer for you. I'm going to provide you with a few different ways to help your select your perfect bronzer. I also recommend that you should have a few selections of bronzers depending on the occasion.

   Determine whether your skin is oily or dry. It's easy to do by checking your skin a couple of hours after you wash it. Do your fingers glide across the skin area on your nose and cheeks. Does it feel like there is a slight film beneath them? If you so most likely have oily or combination skin. If not, then your skin tends to be on the drier side.

   The best face bronzer for oily skin types is a powder bronzer. Powder bronzers come in both pressed and loose powder form. The advantage is that these products will last longer on your skin. If you choose a liquid bronzer there is more of a tendency for it to fade and your complexion look more oily as the day passes. By using a powder bronzer you avoid this complication. Go with a matte bronzer.

   Is your skin combination skin? Do you tend to be more oil in the T-Zone area such as the nose, cheeks and chin? Powder bronzers work best for you and you can even wear shimmer bronzers if you apply them lightly. There is a another selection when choosing the best face bronzer for your skin type. You can also experiment with liquid bronzing products. If you have combination skin then try liquid bronzers in makeup samples before buying one. Just make sure to apply them with a light hand.

   Do you have dry skin? Liquid, lotion and gel bronzers work great on dry skin. They glide across your skin and provide you with nice even sheer color. Your best face bronzer can be used on your cheekbones as blush if you need to avoid having bronzer settle in fine lines. That doesn't mean you can't wear powder bronzer, but if you do then you might prefer a matte bronzer. This is especially true if you have fine lines.

If you have acne or  blemishes on your face its best to use a matte blush and bronzer.  A shimmer based product will draw added attention to your acne and blemishes.
