MAYBELLINE FIT

Ladies, I have found my new foundation!!!! I know you have seen the commerical for Maybelline FIT with supermodel Jessica White. This is Maybelline's new line of foundation, they state they have a color for every foundation. I will agree that they have a lot of colors, however if you are a chocolate brown to dark skin woman of color, you will not find your color. Also, this finish is more light to medium, do not use this if you are looking for full coverage.  This is a great buy for $7.99

31 DAYS TO BEAUTY 2011

DAY #10

TOP FOUNDATION QUESTIONS!

After reading this info in Essence Magazine, I decided that it is great information that will be helpful to my readers. Here are some questions, that may help you  in reference to your foundation.

1. Does foundation cause you to break out?
Not usually. Most breakouts are caused by internal factors. If you get a rash caused by foundation, its usually because it was not properly removed.  On some occasions, breakouts happen if you have a reaction to an irritating ingredient. You should see a determetologist.

2. I want to look at natural as possible. How can I avoid an overly made-up face?
Blend and build. Begin with a formula that goes you sheer to medium coverage.  Start with a light applications and if you need additional coverage, then "build" by applying another layer.  Remember it is equally important to build as well as you go.

3. Does the formula matter if the shad is right?
To get your best look, you also have to understand what is going on with your skin. You want to determine the perfect forumla for our skin type.  For example, if your skin is dry, you will need a foundation that will add moisture; for oily types , oil free and matte formulas will do the trick.

BEST FOUNDATION FOR OVER 40

When choosing a foundation for mature ski begin by assessing your skin, look for age spots which need a maximum coverage foundation, wrinkles need fillers or products that claim to smooth the appearance of lines, dry skin needs products that have moisturizing properties or that have a dewy finish instead of a matte finish. Or better yet, look for products that help to combat all of the three major signs of aging on mature skin. Mousse or cream formulations tend to work best, and don't go for foundations with pink shades, rather go for ones that have yellow undertones to keep skin looking natural.

Top Foundations for Mature Women:

Smashbox High Definition Foundation gives a flawless finish, but with a kick. They have come up with this special formulation that actually makes your skin healthier from the inside out. They also offer a built in time-released moisturizer that last all day, as well as extra all day firming benefits. This great HD foundation is also oil-free, comes in a pump dispenser so there will be no contamination, and is available 13 shades.

Arden's Intervene makeup foundation is a definite must-have if you are beginning to see any fine lines or wrinkles. They claim that it will give your skin a firmer look and actually delay the appearance of wrinkles. I have seen some before and after for this foundation and have to say that it definitely seems to follow through. Other pluses include a soft and natural finish, it's 100% oil free, it gives a medium to full coverage, lasts all day, contains vitamin C and E, and comes in a very wide variety of shades. The great part about the shade selection is that it is available in 12 shades, from the very lightest to a pretty good darker tone.
Lancome has an entire line of Absolue products to help with aging, and the foundation makeup is a great finishing step. The texture of the foundation is very soft and nice, so it applies very easily. Absolue works hard to even out your complexion while giving you a medium to full coverage, without settling into fine lines and wrinkles. Lancome's breakthrough technology actually works to rejuvenate your skin as well as help with your skin's suppleness. Absolue also works to restore moisture that has been lost in your skin. Finally, it comes in a pump container so there is no contamination, and it is available in 12 shades.
Clinique's Repairwear is a great full coverage, oil-free, foundation. It evens out your skin tone as well as concealing any imperfections. Repairwear tackles any problems you may be having with loss of moisture, which also helps to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. When you add in the extra boost of antioxidants and flawless finish, your skin may wonder where it's been all its life. It's available in 12 great shades from very fair to medium.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT FOUNDATION!!

How To Choose The Right Foundation

foundation_how-to_beauty_tips.jpg
Finding the perfect foundation can be an epic quest and one that doesn't always have a happy ending. Our drawers are full of foundations that seemed right for us but turned out to be all wrong. Choosing your ideal face makeup means making choices on everything from the coverage you need to the type of benefits you want--don't even get us started on finding the right foundation shade. It can all get a bit overwhelming, so we went to a pro--Giorgio Armani BeautyNational Creative Director Tim Quinn--to find out how you can ensure you buy the right foundation for you, every time.
The first thing you'll want to decide is which kind of formulation you want. Besides the standard liquid and powder versions, you also have the choice of mousse, cream, spray and cream-to-powder. A great way to narrow down your options is to choose based on your skin type. Oily skin should opt for a powder foundation like Physicians Formula Healthy Wear SPF 50 Powder Foundation, as they will help mattify shine and won't feel heavy or greasy on the skin. Cream foundations are a smart choice for women with dry skin as they tend to be more moisturizing. Women with mature skin should try cream-to-powder foundations because they help deliver that velvet texture without drying out the skin or enhancing the look of wrinkles. Liquid foundations likeBobbi Brown Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation SPF 15 are extremely versatile and work with all skin types; so when in doubt, choose liquid.
Once you've found your formula, you need to choose a coverage type. According to Quinn, this all boils down to what you need to hide. If you like the no makeup look or simply like the option to layer, go for a sheer foundation like Philosophy The Supernatural Superbeautiful Superhealthy Hybrid Makeup SPF 20. Those who want to hide minor skin discolorations should try medium coverage and anyone who has serious skin issues should use full coverage
Many foundations today also have bonus skin benefits to help make your skin look even more fabulous. From illuminating to hydrating, there's an extra for every need. Two of the more prominent perks in foundations today are anti-aging and long-wearing. Anti-aging foundations like Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser are chock full of age-defying ingredients that help hide and treat the signs of aging. "If you're worried about fine lines and wrinkles, you want a foundation that's targeted towards those areas," says Quinn. Long-wearing foundations like Clarins Everlasting Foundation SPF 15 usually feature ingredients like silicones that help the product adhere and stay in place. "If you're a working woman who's up early and not touching up her makeup all day, you'll definitely want a long-wear foundation," says Quinn.
So the next time you're lost in the foundation aisle, just remember these tips and you'll be sure to find your perfect makeup match.

DAILY TIPS!!!

To know that you have chosen the right foundation color, it should disappear in your skin. If you can see it then its not the right color.

DAILY TIPS!!!

Our complexion tends to be a different color depending on what time of the year it is. Keeping this in mind your make-up kit should include 2 foundation colors, one for the warm months one for the colder months.
