GETTING THE PERFECT SMOKEY EYE!!!!!!!

Everyone always asks how do you achieve the perfect smokey eye?? There are a few ways to achieve a sultry, sexy smoke eye. For a great smokey eye you don't always have to use the traditional black eyeshadow, but can be done with gray, purple, blue and brown shadows.

Tools: eye primer, a light and dark shade of the color smokey eye you want, small-med eyeshadow brush, eye liner same color as shadow used, mascara

Step 1: Apply primer to entire eye lid. Creme eye shadow, foundation can be used as primer.

Step 2: Line upper and bottom lid with eye liner

Step 3: Apply lighter shade shadow from inner part of your lid to entire eye lid, not going over the crease in your eye. You only want shadow on the skin that covers your eye ball. 

Step 4: Apply darker shade from outer lid to halfway point on your lid, also apply to your crease

Step 5: Use a blender brush to blend dark color into light shadow.  You can also add a little foundation or highlighter to your eye brow to have better blending effect. 

Step 6: Add mascara and you have a simple, everyday, sexy smokey eye

* For a high fashion or evening look go a little heavy with liner and shadow and add lashes.

SMOKEY BRONZE EYE

A smokey bronze eye is a great look for the fall season. The key is to choose the right balance of color.

1. Start with an eye primer, or you can use a small amount of your foundation as primer.  This helps your shadow remain in place, and helps avoid creasing.

2. Choose a bronze color that best compliments your eyes.  Copper is best for blue eyes, bronze with more brown is best for green eyes. Brown eyes go great with any bronze.

3. Use a sheer bronze as an over all color  for your entire lid extending up to your eyebrow.  This is perfect because you wont need a separate brow highlighter. MAC bare study paint pot is great for this.

4. The color used in the crease should not be too shimmery. Use a taupe or brown based bronze for a natural look.  Urban decay smog, or MAC bronze is great for this effect.  Make sure to blend very well.

5. Using a great bronze liner is a great touch to this, a deep bronze liner should be applied with a heavy had on the upper lash.  You can then apply the same liner lightly to the bottom, or the crease shadow to the bottom line. A bronze kohl liner is also great for this.

6. Dark brown mascara is better than black mascara, it brings the look together without being too noticeable.

7. A nice subtle blush with a hint of gold will look good with this look.

8. Keep your lips muted and neutral, to emphasize the eyes. It can be a bit brighter but not too much to add a pop of color. Don't go too bold on both lips and eyes, play up one feature and tone down the other.
